Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria Memorial

Just across Constitution Hill (a road) from the Canada Gate is Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is the official residence and office of the Queen. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to occupy the palace in 1837.

  1. What an interesting blog!

Interesting, too, that Queen Victoria insensely disliked Buckingham Palace and much preferred Windsor Castle, Balmoral or Osborne House. Since our own Queen seems to also prefer Windsor, I wonder if there is something unpleasant about being situated right in the middle of London, or if it is simply the palace itself.
Enjoy the rest of your journey!
